What is the West Bengal TET Exam? 

WBTET stands for West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test. The West Bengal Board of Primary Education administers the eligibility test according to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) norms.  

The board has made available an online registration and application form. The test is administered in an offline style (Pen and Paper mode).  

The exam consists of two papers: Paper I for primary school teachers and Paper II for secondary school teachers. The exam is an eligibility test; it does not guarantee a teaching position.  

If you pass the test, you will receive a credential that you may use to find a teaching position. The test consists of 150 questions for 150 points. 

2022 WB TET Screening Process 

Participants will be chosen based on their performance in the West Bengal TET Entrance Exam, administered by the West Bengal State Government. 

Candidates that are shortlisted will be picked based on how they performed in the Entrance Test. 

Participants must also attend the Final Round of Personal Interviews. 

Eligibility Criteria for WB TET Exam 

The following are the WB TET qualifying requirements for 2022 for Paper 1 and Paper 2: 

Paper 1:  

To be eligible to take the WB TET test, candidates must meet the following minimum eligibility standards as defined by NCTE from time to time: 

  • Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year diploma in Elementary Education (DEIEd 
  • Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEIEd) (RCI) 
  • A high school diploma plus a two-year elementary education diploma (DEIEd) 

Paper 2: 

Aspirants are eligible to take the WB TET test if they: 

  • Completed a BSc/BA or comparable education 
  • passed their BEd/Secondary education test with at least a 50% score 
  • Bachelor of Elementary Education last four years qualified (BEIEd) 
  • Attending the final two years of a BSc/BA/Diploma in Education and passing the test with at least 45% marks 

How to Apply for the Exam? 

Candidates can apply for the Eligibility exam on the WBBPE's official website beginning in the second week of October 2022. The online application window will open shortly after announcing official online application dates.  

Simply follow the steps outlined below to apply for the West Bengal Primary TET 2022 test: 

  • Click the "Online Apply" button on the portal. 
  • For the first time, fill out all of the needed information on the webpage. 
  • After that, submit, and you will be given a registration ID and password. 
  • Complete the WB Primary TET application form. 
  • Fill the form, upload the required documents, and deposit the registration fee. 
  • Now, submit it and get a hard copy of it. 

WB TET Test Scores 

The applicants' final mark sheets will be posted on the WBBPE's official website. Candidates can view their results by logging in using their registration log-in ID. After the written exam and personality test, the WB Primary TET Result will likely be announced within a month.

  • The applicant's first and most critical responsibility is to focus on the fundamentals. 
  • In order to learn the fundamentals of each topic, the candidate should dedicate the first several days to understanding the fundamentals.
